What is a Fatwa?
A fatwa is a legal opinion or decree handed down by an Islamic scholar (Mufti) on issues pertaining to Islamic law. It provides guidance on how to act in specific situations in accordance with Islamic principles. Fatwas are based on the Qur’an, Hadith, consensus (Ijma), and analogical reasoning (Qiyas).
